Gulf Coast Charrette Background Resources

National Register Historic District Maps

We received a list of National Register historic districts and their associated UTM coordinates, and provided a quick set of first cut maps with basic boundaries. More detailed maps of contributing/non-contributing resources will be provided later.

Images for 11 districts where bounding UTMs were not in question were completed by 15 September. The remaining districts did not have coordinates, or had coordinates that did not appear to be correct.

The original nomination files for those sites were retrieved from the National Register archives and the boundaries for those districts have now been digitized. Additionally, we have incorporated corrections to district boundaries provided by the SHPO. The images and data files will be available on the website for the next 60 days and can be extended if necessary.

Additionally, the .zip file on the same web page contains the shapefile for the historic district boundaries, which can be downloaded and included in a GIS. The .dbf file in which the original UTMs were placed is also available on the web page for download and inclusion in GIS.
